Your city, your vote!
Many foreign nationals are unaware of their right to vote in municipal elections. The next elections are in march 2010. With the exception of embassy and consular staff, however, most expats over 18 who are registered in The Hague do have the right to vote locally. Nationals of EU-member states may vote, and nationals of non-EU member states who’ve been registered in The Netherlands for five consecutive years also have the right. Specific voter registration is not necessary.
